The oldest, largest, and possibly best national park in Vietnam is Cuc Phuong National Park. It’s about 120 km southwest of Hanoi. Ho Chi Minh himself consecrated it back in 1962, when the Vietnam War was being fought.
We went to the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre, the Turtle Conservation Centre, the observation tower, the Cave of Prehistoric Man, and we searched for wildlife while walking the 1000 year old tree loop.
